Policies, Procedures and Responsibilities

TAYPE International recognizes that it has special responsibilities both as the handler of customers’ funds and because of the inherently sensitive nature of the information we maintain in order to carry out our business activities. We are pleased to provide a clear explanation of our policies and procedures in this regard.

TAYPE International Accounting and Auditing

Large sums of money flow through TAYPE International’s accounts on a continual basis. The vast majority of this money is received and disbursed the same business day. However, some funds are held in our accounts for short periods of time. Our qualified accounting personnel ensure that all accounts are reconciled and thoroughly checked daily. We retain the services of independent, professional auditors to periodically verify our processes and procedures, in addition to an annual audit. The auditors report directly to the Board of Directors who are ultimately responsible for the operation of the company. We strive to manage the affairs of the company in an extremely prudent and conservative manner, in keeping with the serious nature of our responsibilities. At no time is the balance of funds on hand ever allowed to fall below pending liabilities.

Our Responsibility to the Environment

TAYPE International is committed to operating in an environmentally responsible fashion. By reducing paper payments, encouraging electronic billing, and providing systems that allow individuals and businesses to store their accounting records electronically, we believe we can lead the way towards significant reductions in the amount of paper required to conduct business. In addition to this we participate in e-waste recycling initiatives and make every possible effort to implement and maintain power-efficient IT systems. The earth belongs to all of its' citizens and we take our stewardship of the environment very seriously.

Safeguarding of Personal Information

We take the responsible use and protection of your personal and financial information very seriously. TAYPE International is governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), a Federal Act safeguarding the personal information of individuals. Our systems use proven technologies and best practices to ensure that the information we retain in order to provide our services is fully protected from abuse or loss. Payment Industry Responsibilities

TAYPE International is an active participant in the Canadian payment industry. As such we are committed to contributing to the overall security and quality of the payment system, to secure against fraud and abuse and to encourage improvements that will make it more effective, efficient and equitable. Privacy Policy

TAYPE International is committed to respecting the privacy of individuals and recognizes the need of people with whom we do business, and employees for the appropriate management and protection of any Personal Information that you agree to provide to us.

Collection

Disclosure

The organization will not disclose personal information unnecessarily to employees or any third party, unless the effected individual consents.

Access

The organization promotes and affirms individual’s right of access to personal information about themselves. The employer will provide access to information upon request. Access will be provided according to established procedures. Note: access to a record may be subject to the payment of any fee required according to organization policy.

In addition to the care that TAYPE International takes directly, we are also working with all of our partner organizations that may at some point handle personal information gathered by us in the course of their relationship with and service to us. Each third party partner has agreed to meet our standards of privacy, confidentiality and security.

All Employees and third party staff who in any way handle or manage Personal Information have acknowledged and agreed to adhere to our Privacy Code and the procedures that support that code.
